Eyecare of Southeast Idaho, headed by board-certified ophthalmologist Dr. Robert R. Jones, provides a range of surgical and medical ophthalmology services. Dr. Jones completed an internship in internal medicine/emergency medicine at the University of Utah Affiliated Hospitals, followed by an extensive residency in surgery and diseases of the eye at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. He is a board-certified diplomat of the American Board of Ophthalmology, and maintains this distinction through formal re-certification which involves many hours of continuing medical education, as well as passing board re-certification examinations and office record reviews.

Dr. Jones has performed laser vision correction (LASIK) on many physicians and healthcare professionals, as well as professional basketball players, family members, friends, and office staff. He has been featured on television news programs and in newspaper articles. He performed the first live televised surgical operation in Southeast Idaho when he did the LASIK procedure on Dr. Curt Galke during the 5:00 news. Dr. Galke is the host of the weekly local NBC television program “Ask the Doc.”
